Patrick Mendis: United States; PATRICK MENDIS is the author of most recently, PEACEFUL WAR (2013), COMMERCIAL PROVIDENCE (2010), and TRADE for PEACE (2009). The latter two books were published while he was a visiting foreign policy scholar at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He is currently a distinguished senior fellow and affiliate professor of public and international affairs at George Mason University’s School of Public Policy. He has been serving as a distinguished visiting professor of international relations at the Center for American Studies of the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in Guangzhou, China. He is a commissioner of the US National Commission for UNESCO, an adviser to Harvard International Review, and a fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science.
